NERD STUFF: our new blog column starts with the end of the REST calls
At this point we are launching a new category of articles with a technological background and high relevance for the community.
From now on, those heads will have their say, whose work and developments will otherwise make important technological contributions. The first step is *um Data Engineer Hasan Guercan with the topic of REST calls in streaming applications.
The first article deals with Representational State Transfer (abbr. REST), a programming paradigm for distributed systems and especially for web services. And in particular for the application in streaming applications where you try to process data almost in real time. In certain cases, it is necessary to access external systems to supplement a data record.
But what are the difficulties if this external system is a REST API? And: how do you deal with unsuccessful or too slow queries? Hasan gives answers in his article and shares his experience with real-time data processing depending on external data sources.
