December 18 – Never share passwords or passphrases

Today, our security tip #18 in this Christmas calendar is to never share passwords or passphrases. You might have heard the term “sharing is caring”, but it doesn’t apply for passwords and passphrases at all. It is extremely important that you do not share any passwords or passphrases, which means that everyone needs to have their own logins to every system. Having a shared password will very quickly translate to catastrophe when an attacker has gained access to a system on your network.
